For as long as I can remember, I've been fighting a battle with my weight. As a teenager, I was already struggling with obesity, and that struggle continued into adulthood. I’ve tried every diet under the sun—cabbage soup, Cambridge Diet, Slim Fast, Celebrity Slim, Keto, Atkins, Slimming World, Weight Watchers, Special K—you name it, I’ve done it. But nothing seemed to work.
I signed up for gym memberships, only to go once and then pay for 12 months of unused time. I tried boot camps in the park, running with a bin bag under my t-shirt, and even paid for a personal trainer twice a week for six months. We did everything from flipping huge tires to swinging kettlebells and doing bodyweight squats. But despite all these efforts, I never saw the results I desperately wanted.
I spent most of my life feeling miserable, even though I put on a brave face and tried to be the life and soul of every event. Deep down, I was sad, lost, and frustrated. My habits didn’t help—I smoked, drank too much, never walked anywhere, and ate highly processed foods. I didn't know if I'd ever escape the cycle of being overweight.
Then, something changed, I was ready to commit to focusing on myself. After just 8 weeks of sticking to a new routine, I was amazed to see I had lost nearly 18 pounds. That was the moment I realised that change was possible.
I quit smoking, started walking everywhere, and began to enjoy the outdoors with my little dog, Shelby. I developed a new passion for the gym and I’ve taken up dancing and other hobbies I used to feel too embarrassed to try.
Today, I’m almost 100 pounds lighter and couldn’t be happier. My life has completely transformed—I’m healthier, more active, and finally living the life I’ve always wanted.
But my journey didn’t stop there. Wanting to deepen my understanding of health and nutrition, I completed a nutrition course and became a Certified RP Nutrition Coach. This education has equipped me with the knowledge to help others, and I’m proud to say that I’ve successfully guided friends and family in their own weight loss journeys. Seeing them achieve their goals has been incredibly rewarding, and it inspired me to take the next step—to help even more people transform their lives.
